Is it time to have your Altimeter, transponder and encoder inspected? If your aircraft is or ever has been certified for IFR flight then even if your do not fly IFR the instruments still have to be inspected and re-certified every two years. Don't be fooled by others when they tell you otherwise. It is not a F.A.R. requirement but your insurance company sure will use it for an excuse to not pay for damages to your aircraft. No kidding the insurance companies are getting bad. We offer the IFR Re-certification for $275. It can be done in about an hour with a days notice. If you have more than one Altimeter or more than one Transponder then there is an additional charge of $125 for an additional Transponder and an additional charge of $175 for an additional Altimeter.
